5. Vitolo (Las Palmas to Sevilla) – £2.9 million in 2013
The Colombian can be considered to another of Unai Emery’s top signings during his time at Sevilla with the striker playing a big role in their Europa League successes. He scored 34 goals in 72 appearances and was voted by Marca as the best signing of the 2013-14 season.
4. Carlos Bacca (Club Brugge to Sevilla) – £9 million in 2013
The 28-year-old moved to Sevilla from Los Palmas in 2013 and made an instant impact for the club scoring eight goals including four during their run to the UEFA Europa League title. He helped the club win three successive Europa titles under Unai Emery before moving to back to Las Palmas on loan from Atletico Madrid.
3. Alvaro Negredo (Real Madrid B to Almeria) – £2.7 million in 2007
Arguably, Emery’s best signing during his time at Almerias, Alvaro Negredo scored 32 goals in 73 appearances for the club, top scoring for the club and leading them to eighth place in the La Liga table in his debut campaign.
The Spaniard soon moved to Sevilla where he was even more successful.
2. Ever Banega (Valenica to Sevilla) – £2.25 million in 2014
The Argentinian midfielder played for Sevilla for only a couple of seasons but left his mark winning two Europa League titles under Unai Emery. Banega made 92 appearances in all, netting 12 goals for the club before eventually moving to Inter Milan, only for him to make a return to the club in 2017.
1. Neymar (Barcelona to PSG) – £198 million in 2017
One of the most controversial signings in recent times, Neymar moved to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017, but one can say that he was more of a signing from the club management rather than on Unai Emery’s urging.
His future has been once again come under speculation with reports emerging of a move to Real Madrid.
